Three Athletes
Say hello to Katie, P.J., and Becky Theisen. They all go to St. Thomas, and they’re all leaders in multiple sports including, but not limited to, basketball, football, track and field, and cross country. P.J. graduated this year.
This photo was originally taken for an NCAA.com article, but to my knowledge, it never ran. The location is UST’s basketball arena and the shot is lit with three lights, all powered by a portable battery pack (outlets are not one of the arena’s prominent features). The final shot was heavily processed in PhotoShop to give it that dingy, hyper-sharp look.
This particular PhotoShop technique is being used all over the place (probably too often) after being pioneered by people like Dave Hill and Jill Greenberg. With that said, I thought I’d give it a try at least once to see what kind of results I could get.
